LIT.
What exactly do we mean when we say ‘LIT”? The term, for us, actually stands for Lost In Thought.
Here at Lit Gear we are not only trying to create a brand, but a lifestyle that promotes positivity, inclusivity, and all around LIGHT in a world that seems to have become so dark. We strive to encourage the people living in our time to break out of the social conformity that has everyone so wrapped up in ‘whats cool’, ‘whats in’, and start thinking for themselves. We encourage you all to get Lost In Thought. We are the dreamers, we are the believers, we are the doers, and we are the change that we are all so desperately looking for.
The purpose of this blog is to motivate and inspire you to become the best version of yourself. The purpose of this blog is to bring light to social issues that we are all living with and struggling to understand. The purpose of this blog is to let you know that you are not alone in this fight of life.
Here we go…
I want to start this blog with a motivational piece because I feel like in the time we are living in a lot of people can use a little extra motivation, or a hype man.
I started off this year moving to a new state not knowing anyone, not really having a solid place to stay, and just really being unsure of what was going to happen after I touched down. A few weeks before I decided to move I saw a quote on instagram that said “Do it now. Sometimes ‘later’ becomes never.” and that hit me harder than a ton of bricks. I had recently lost my brother (more about that on a different blog LOL) and it seemed like my world was coming to an end.
For years I had told myself that I was going to move to a new state, try a new career path, do things for passion instead of money, and there I was at 25 years old having never taken any major risks in life. Reading that quote, losing my brother, it just seemed like if I didn’t make a drastic change now then I never would. I decided to move cross country and I accepted my jobs transfer before I told my parents I was even considering moving.
Everything after that has been a whirlwind. I found a random roommate on Craigslist (which was hell by the way), switched careers almost immediately after I moved, mentally and emotionally broke down more times than I can count, and yet here I am living to tell the story.
What I have come to realize is that complacency and fear will never breed growth. You have to step out of your comfort zone and be willing to risk it all sometimes. Everyone has a dream, but you know the difference between a dream and reality? PROPER EXECUTION.
I encourage you to take a leap of faith because you only have one life to live. I encourage you to live the life you have always wanted because you deserve it. Don’t be afraid of the things that you cannot control. Money will always come and go. Don’t wait as long as I did to decide that your life is worth living, and please don’t wait till a gigantic emotional tragedy happens for you to decide that the time is now.
You have today, you might not have tomorrow. Get lost in your thoughts and create an action plan! It’s going to be a beautiful and bumpy ride.
